Can I Use Vitamin E to Help the Healing?

(Houston)
I found a bump Friday. Went and got tested Monday morning and it looks like herpes... I just want to die! I just left my husband because it was a bad situation... I am almost on my knees its hard being a single mom with two young kids and this is the worst thing ever! I know I'll get through it, I just feel like I have no one to talk to because I don't want anyone to know.

Dear J Curry,First of all, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Indeed, getting diagnosed with herpes can definitely feel like the end of the world.
But there is good news!
It is estimated that 1 in every 6 US adults have herpes, so this infection is actually fairly common. People just don’t openly talk about it.
If you need someone to talk to, perhaps consider joining a
herpes support group. You will meet a lot of nice, friendly people in the same boat as you. I’ve personally learned a lot about coping with herpes from the friends I made in my local support group.
To answer your question, yes you can use Vitamin E to speed up the healing process. Vitamin E has natural soothing properties that can relieve some of the pain as well. I know some people who use them topically on their herpes sores and swear by it.
So remember, you’re not alone. It’s only difficult during the first few outbreaks but your body will eventually adjust to the presence of the virus in your system.
Hang in there, okay?
